Mild Mannered: A British classic arrives at Strahov

From 3 June, you'll find a new beer on tap that we're genuinely excited to share. Mild Mannered is the result of a collaboration with Cornwall's Mason Brewing Co and a tribute to one of Britain's most traditional and beloved beer styles – the English Mild Ale.
Working with Mason Brewing Co has been a pleasure from the very beginning. Founded by Mike and Lisa in the heart of Cornwall, this family-run brewery shares our belief that great beer is built on quality ingredients, sound brewing practices and flavours people want to come back to time and time again. That shared philosophy is exactly what inspired Mild Mannered.
What exactly is a Mild Ale?
If you've never come across the style before, you're not alone. Despite its importance in British brewing history, Mild Ale remains relatively uncommon outside the UK.
With more than three centuries of history behind it, Mild was once one of the most popular beers in British pubs. Even today, it remains a wonderful example of how a beer doesn't need to be strong, intensely bitter or packed with trendy ingredients to be memorable.
Its greatest strength is drinkability. Gentle bitterness, a satisfying malt character and a modest ABV come together to create a beer that's easy to enjoy and remarkably moreish.
Rather than chasing extremes, Mild celebrates balance, subtlety and craftsmanship.
What does Mild Mannered taste like?
Our interpretation stays true to the spirit of the style.
Mild Mannered is a lightly hopped English Mild Ale at 3.6% ABV and 18 IBU. A rich malt backbone brings notes of biscuit, bread crust and light caramel, while East Kent Goldings – one of England's most iconic hop varieties – contributes delicate herbal and subtle spicy character.
It's the sort of beer that doesn't rely on high alcohol or bold hop intensity to make an impression. Instead, it rewards careful brewing, balance and flavour.
On Tap from 3 June
Mild Mannered will be available on tap at Strahov Brewery from 3 June.
Whether you're a fan of traditional beer styles, curious about British brewing heritage, or simply looking to try something different from the usual lagers and hop-forward ales, it's well worth a pint.
And if you've never tried a Mild Ale before, this might be the perfect place to start.
