Sakura Amber Ale 2025

At our brewery, spring blossoms not only in the gardens but also in the glass. For several seasons now, we've been brewing a semi-dark special called Sakura Amber Ale – a tribute to the Japanese tradition of Hanami, the celebration of cherry blossoms.This year, this popular seasonal beer comes with a new label and an expanded story.

A beer inspired by the art of tea

The heart of Sakura Amber Ale lies in carefully selected ingredients, including rare Japanese cherry leaves known as Sakuracha. Unlike traditional tea, Sakuracha is made from handpicked wild cherry tree leaves from the Shizuoka region, processed in a semi-fermented oolong style.

We treated the leaves just like tea – adding them directly to the kettle after the hop boil. The result is a delicate, tea-like beer with sweet cherry blossom aroma and a soft, floral finish that evokes the feeling of spring beneath blooming trees – wherever you are.

A new label, a new story

For the first time this year, Sakura Amber Ale features a brand-new label that blends Japanese symbolism with modern design. At its center is a serpent coiled among cherry branches – a mysterious forest guardian and a symbol of transformation and renewal.This motif also appears on our limited-edition t-shirts, launched during the Hanami festival and soon to be restocked in our e-shop.

Hanami at Strahov

To honor this unique beer, we once again hosted our annual Hanami at Strahov – a spring celebration full of flavor, color, and culture.Guests enjoyed a special Japanese-inspired menu, watched demonstrations of martial arts, admired traditional kimonos, Japanese knives and katanas, and soaked up the festive atmosphere in the spirit of sakura, craft beer, and cultural exchange.📽️ Watch the video from the event here: Hanami 2025 – Strahov
